Steff J. Hummel is a composer and pianist, dialogue writer, dubbing director and producer. Music remains the first line of his work: piano, film music, improvisation, sound design and the search for the emotionally precise sound of a moment.

For many years he has worked across film, television and music production. Since 2002, German-language dubbing has formed a further focus. As managing director of Xscape GmbH in Munich, he connects dialogue adaptation, direction, production, recording, editing and mixing with a distinctly musical sense of rhythm, language and scene.

His work as a composer includes projects such as “Blutige Ernte – Ein starkes Team”, “Revolution” and “München 089 – big trouble in little Minga”. His own releases include the “Nightsession Soundtrack” album.

His long-standing dubbing and production work spans feature films, television, series and documentaries for German and international clients. Many German versions have been personally supervised by Steff Hummel as dialogue writer and director.

Steff Hummel is a member of GEMA and GVL and is represented by VG Wort.

Munich is the centre of his work. The piano remains the point of departure.
